Lucas was a sociopathic, highly self-absorbed humanoid abomination, a twisted creature meant to represent pride.  In spite of his snobbish behavior, he wasn't stupid nor overly arrogant.  In fact, he was considered equally dangerous as the Corpse King--fitting, as Lucas is the highest ranking member as second-in-command. His means of sneaking in alone were cunning; he "posed" as some random statue for part of the Comic-Con event, perfectly remaining still while inside some crate.  He forged a convincing letter/shipment details regarding the "statue" being delivered.  All that was left was for the target--Hiruko--to come in.
